Family and Friends

The last couple of weekends have been a blast. First, we went down to Kissimmee, where a good chunk of Michelle's Family had rented a house. Eli got some quality time with Liam on a different playground.
The cousins practiced sharing. Liam enjoyed Eli's bike.

And Eli enjoyed Liam's pears

And, Eli also got to hang out with some slightly more distant cousins (first cousins once removed to be exact). Sophie and Marie had a blast playing with the babies.

Then, this weekend, 3 of Michelle's best friends came up for a couple of days and brought Luke (9 1/2 months). Eli helped him learn how to share too.

Ups and Downs

Eli came down with a nasty virus last week. He couldn't keep food down for almost a full day, and Mom and Dad had to take some time off of work to take care of him. It was sad to see him sick, but he was extra cuddly.

Kids bounce back quick, though. By Friday we were at the playground. Eli LOVES the swings and he's pretty fond of the slide too. We went back on Sunday for more fun.

29 years later

My mom enjoyed making special cakes for each birthday we had growing up. We had train cakes, superhero cakes, strawberry shortcakes, and many others. For my first birthday, she made me a carousel cake with animal crackers. 29 years later, she made a strikingly similar cake for Eli. You'll notice the although I was a relatively chubby kid, I think I started to slim up a little earlier than Eli.
