Eli tries to eat pretty much everything he can get his hands around, but isn't exactly proficient at it. We got the okay from the doctor to start solid foods, but they recommended we start with rice cereal instead of fingers, toys, toes, cameras, shirts, hair, bibs, computers, etc... So, today Eli ate from a spoon for the first time. Well, we kind-of tried a few days ago, but he mostly stuck his tongue out. This time we successfully transferred food from a spoon to his mouth, and it stayed in his mouth for a little while. He actually seemed to enjoy it, but I'm not sure he swallowed much. I figure he had to have at least accidentally swallowed a few flakes, but Mom is skeptical. The pictures could be better, but we didn't have a camerman, and this was a two-person job.

4 months
Eli is big. He weighed in at an even 16 pounds today, and got a clean bill of health from the doctor (well, the liscensed pediatric nurse, the doctor was out) who hadn't seen him since he was 6 lb 2oz and dehydrated. I didn't trust the length measurement from the regular nurse (it was her first day and the process looked sketchy) so I did it myself at home... 26 1/2 is much more reasonable than 28. Either way, he's very high in the height percentile, about 75th in weight, and still right around 50th in head size. Pictures of the doctor's office are boring, so here's some cute ones from Sunday in an outfit aunt Kristy gave him.

Milestone
Okay, so we have a bouncer, that plays music. Well, it didn't for the first three months or so, but then we put batteries in it. Anyway, it can play continuously, or whenever you pull the spiders, but you have to pull the spider pretty hard. Well, I had it on the pull setting and forgot about it... until I heard random music playing. Not only had Eli pulled the spider, but he proceeded to do it again at least 5 times, even after letting go of the spider. So, this is the first time he's purposely operated a toy (other than just hitting something). How long til we take the batteries out?

Go Gators!
Eli can finally fit into his Gator onesie, so the family got all Gatored up and took some pictures
What do you think? Does Eli have enough Gator stuff? Keep in mind this is only officially liscensed Gator products, it doesn't count all of his alligator themed toys, clothes, blankets, etc.
Eli can tend to be a little bit of a copycat. He was jealous of Liam's similar picture (http://liamfoneill.blogspot.com/2008/01/geaux-tigers.html), but wanted to do it his own way.

Yay, Grandparents!
Eli looks pretty happy to see his grandparents in these pictures. Mom and Dad were pretty happy too, since they got to go to a movie and eat out. No, Eli doesn't smile all the time now as it looks like in these pictures, but it sure is more common. I think we heard the beginnings of a laugh yesterday as well.

The Important things in life
After 3 months, Eli has grown and developed so much. He has learned how to make somewhat purposeful noises, smile at his parents (and people he doesn't even know) when they smile at him, hold on to things, support some of his weight on his legs, and think about rolling over. He's doubled his birthweight (well, almost... he was 13lb, 14oz at his checkup on Wednesday). But, in addition to all that, he's just so much cooler... I mean, look at the before/after photos...

Social Butterfly
Eli went to hang out friend friends and family in South Florida again this weekend. I'm not sure how grandpa managed to get him to look like he's holding the bottle himself, but he's not.
Here's a nice unique Eli-face while Uncle Josh says hello
Liam and his friend Cameron came up to visit while we were there. Eli shows them his Buddha impression.
Okay, lets see... Eli is shocked and appalled that we are sharing his alligator toy with his LSU supporting cousin... and Liam trys to difuse the situation by doing an Elvis impession...
